Asia CHE meeting May 2011, Hong Kong

Nine participants from five different countries met in Hong Kong on May 3rd and 4th for the 2011 LCMS Asia CHE Meeting. The sessions were moderated by LCMS Asia Facilitator for Human Care, Michelle Cagnin. 

LIMM sponsored the participants who came from the Philippines, Cambodia and Thailand. LIMM has sponsored the CHE programs in Cambodia since its inception, and will sponsor the new CHE programs in Thailand and the Philippines for the next fiscal year. 

Major Goals for LCMS Asia CHE Programs 

  • Participants learn basic health knowledge which they share with family and community members.
  • Behavior and habits change in positive ways due to this basic health knowledge training.
  • The program is carried out by the church as a witness and outreach to the community.
  • Prayer and the Word of God are an integral part of the program.
