In the opening week of school at Virginia Tech, volunteers with Extra Mile Ministry spoke with hundreds of students, faculty and campus police that were standing near the memorial site in Drill Field and at the student center. Interaction with the canine volunteers opened the conversations, and people were then able to express their feelings concerning the tragedy. Although the students were very appreciative for the visit… the Extra Mile Ministry volunteers received the blessings.
Dr. Carli Zygowicz is a Board member of Lutherans in Medical Missions. Dr. Zygowicz has worked with Extra Mile Ministry’s outreach in the Gulf Coast since Hurricane Katrina. LIMM has an ongoing partnership with Extra Mile Ministry.
