Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, PA awards LIMM $6000 grant  

Dr. Velma Rynearson joins LIMM Board of Directors 

Bobbie Lautenschlager, Executive Director of Lutherans in Medical Missions, announces that Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, PA has granted $6000 to LIMM for 2009 to support expert consultant volunteers for service with international Lutheran Church partners in areas of health education. Betty Roon, R. N. of Ann Arbor, MI and Lena Bykova of Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan will travel to Cambodia and the country of Georgia respectfully to conduct Community Health Education workshops with local participants. 

Lutherans in Medical Missions also announces the appointment and acceptance of Dr. Vlema Rynearson, R. N. to the Board of Directors of Lutherans in Medical Missions. 

“Dr. Rynearson has served internationally in medical mission in India and as a staff member of LCMS World Mission and is well-equipped to serve on the LIMM Board,” states Lautenschlager. Rynearson will be commissioned as a member of the LIMM Board at the 2009 LIMM Forum Awards Banquet at the St. Louis Crowne Plaza-Airport, March 21 at 6 p.m. where she will also be honored for her past medical mission service. The public is invited to attend. Please call 314-503-4317 for reservations and further information.
