LIMM welcomes two new Board Members effective May/2016. Below is a brief bio for each of them.
Linda Jurgens
I was born at McNeil Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois, and grew up as an only child in Hinsdale. After graduation from high school, I attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois where I majored in French and Psychology and had a minor in German, with 6-12 teaching certification. My first job was teaching foreign languages at Monroe Junior High in Wheaton, Illinois. Cut-backs in extracurricular subjects forced me to be laid off after one year. Due to past summer employment in the Human Resource department , I secured a position for one year at Stanadyne, Inc in Bellwood, Illinois, and later was employed at Borg-Warner Corporation as a Salaried HR Manager for 5 years. During this time, I took graduate classes at Northern Illinois University towards my MA in Personnel Administration. Before being transferred to the Borg-Warner Frankfort Division where I would be promoted to VP of Human Resource, I married and moved to Rockford, IL.
My husband and I have been married for 35 years. Carl is an OB/GYN here in Rockford and we have 4 grown children. Although I do not work outside the home, I have continued to use my gifts of administration and leadership by volunteering on many boards and committees: founder and 6 year board member of the Rockford Area Pregnancy Care Center, Winnebago/Boone County Task Force on Homelessness Advisory Board, Allegan County 4-H leader, Immanuel North Task Force Secretary, Immanuel Women’s Ministry Leadership Coordinator, Immanuel’s Outreach and Evangelism Staff Coordinator, etc.
I have also served on several mission trips abroad: one trip to Ukraine with the John Guest Evangelical Team working with children’s ministry, team lead to Lithuania to model VBS programs, 3 medical trips to Madagascar with LWR/HC, 2 medical trips to Kenya with World Medical Missions and 1 with LWR/HC. Sharing God with the world has always been my passion!
