To Partners, Friends and Donors of Lutherans in Medical Missions,
We mourn the passing of our dear sister Bobbie Lautenschlager, former CEO of LIMM, who died in Christ on the morning of August 18, 2012, after a battle with non-small cell lung cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Historic Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Louis, Missouri on Saturday, September 8, to remember the work of the Holy Spirit through the life and witness of Bobbie. The family will greet guests from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. with a worship service at 10:30. A light lunch will be served in the School Hall following the service.
We remember and celebrate Bobbie’s tireless efforts to advocate for and promote medical missions and community health education around the world through the work of LIMM, a Recognized Service Organization (RSO) of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). The Board of LIMM and its Interim CEO, Rita Nickel, RN, will continue to advance the legacy of Bobbie to assist the LCMS “in its healing ministry by linking qualified health professionals to global medical mission needs.”
Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated during this time of grief, even as we remember together the Lord’s work through our sainted sister Bobbie and look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.
For all the saints who from their labors rest,
Who Thee by faith before the world confessed,
Thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest.
Alleluia, Alleluia. And when the fight is fierce, the warfare long,
Steals on the ear the distant triumph song,
And hearts are brave again, and arms are strong.
Alleluia, Alleluia.
