Thanksgiving, 2011

Dear LIMM Friends,

We are thankful that God has allowed Lutherans in Medical Missions to continue to serve Him and the Church worldwide in 2011.

Because of your generous gifts, we are able to continue our work to the end of 2011, and into 2012.

  • Community Health Education project extends into the villages of Thailand

  • The Alcohol Rehabilitation program continues with the India Evangelical Lutheran Church and the staff at Bethesda Hospital in Ambur, India

  • Two Parish Nurses will travel to Palestine at the end of this month to continue International Parish Nursing in that country

  • An extension of Community Health Education begun with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chile

  • Investigation into projects to be implemented in Turkey and possibly Mongolia

  • Efforts to help support medical mission candidates for service with LCMS

  • Continued support for the Lutheran Malaria Initiative

To continue these projects and begin new ones, we need your ongoing support. A single gift or scheduled monthly gifts will enable us to serve in areas where the International Lutheran Church is growing and members around the world are learning how to reach out with acts of mercy to their neighbors in Christ’s name.

Remember, if you have an IRA and are 70-1/2 years or older, you can make a direct, tax-free transfer to LIMM from your IRA. This IRA charitable rollover will qualify for your yearly required minimum distribution.

We also thank you who give to LIMM through Thrivent Choice. If you would like to add LIMM on your list, call 1-800-847-4836 and ask for “Thrivent Choice” or go online at Thrivent.com/choicedollars.

If you are working with an estate planner, please consider LIMM as a beneficiary in your will or revocable living trust.

The Staff and Board of Lutherans in Medical Missions wishes you a blessed holiday time—truly Holy Days to serve the Lord in Joy.
